Change is the only constant thing today, and the Journal for Nurses in Staff Development is not immune to this. Readers will see some of those changes in this issue. Start with the masthead, where you will notice the absence of Editorial Assistant Keleita (Shay) Stephens. Shay has worked with the Journal for the past 10 years but has moved on to other responsibilities at Dancy, Puetz & Associates. Shay continues to assist me with select journal activities, and for that I am very grateful. The Publisher, Editorial Board, and I recognized Shay for her exemplary contributions to Journal for Nurses in Staff Development at last year's Editorial Board meeting in Atlanta prior to the National Nursing Staff Development Organization's convention there.
Next, you will notice some new names on the Editorial Board. We have added several new staff development educators to this hardworking Board.
We have added some new columns too; in this issue, you will see one on Legal/Ethical issues in staff development and another on Evidence-Based Practice. Let me know if there are other columns in which you are interested.
The final, and perhaps most exciting, change is the addition of online-only articles. In each issue in 2008, you will find three articles that will be posted online in their entirety. In the Table of Contents in the print journal, the complete title and abstract of the article will be listed followed by the authors' names. These articles are available for you to read at http://www.jnsdonline.com. The articles are fully indexed as well. Thus, in addition to the printed articles, you will receive a bonus of three additional articles per issue in 2008. We are trying to bring you the highest quality, thought-provoking material in the timeliest manner, and we are using the technology that currently exists to allow us to do just that! Thanks to the authors who agreed to publish their articles in this new format!
Some of these changes are the result of the findings from the readers' survey that was conducted last year. We appreciate the feedback we received from those of you who responded. It was gratifying to learn that we are delivering the content you need, and we will strive to continue to do so. We are still mining the data for additional insights into readers' needs and wants.
