Lippincott NursingCenter’s CE for Charity
Lippincott NursingCenter started our annual CE for Charity campaign after the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas. We were attending a nursing conference held in Las Vegas at the time of the tragedy. We witnessed many of the nurses in attendance at the conference rush to the scene without hesitation to offer their assistance. We were so deeply touched and inspired by the nurses’ response and wanted to do something—anything—to help! Since then, we have donated over $20,000 to various organizations including the American Red Cross, the Polaris Project, the Brave of Heart fund, NAMI Frontline Wellness Initiative, and Project Hope.
This year, we are proud to support The Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP) through our annual CE for Charity program. We invite you to join us in giving back—while earning contact hours! Check out our #NurseStrong collection, which includes 6 continuing education activities totaling 11 contact hours for just $20. Half of the proceeds from the purchase of this collection will be donated to NFP.
The Nurse-Family Partnership® is an evidence-based, 501(c)(3) community health program with 45 years of research showing significant improvements in the health and lives of first-time moms and their children affected by social and economic inequality and other risk factors. This is accomplished by deploying specially educated nurses to regularly visit low-income, first-time mothers throughout their pregnancy.
Several demonstrated benefits of the NFP program include:
- Children of mothers enrolled in the NFP program
- 88% reached full-term birth
- 92% have up-to-date immunizations at 6 months of age
- 70% screened at 4 months for developmental delays
- 48% less likely to suffer abuse and neglect
- Mothers enrolled in the NFP program
- 35% fewer pregnancy-induced hypertensive complications
- 18% fewer preterm births
- 79% reduction in preterm delivery in those who smoke cigarettes
- 89% initiated breastfeeding
