Abstract
Faculty, students, and alumni wrote stories of their nursing experiences for the Brigham Young University (BYU) College of Nursing 50th Anniversary Celebration. Analysis revealed the stories reflected professional values (altruism, autonomy, human dignity, integrity, social justice) identified in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's Essentials for Baccalaureate Nursing. Nursing educators can use such innovative and creative assignments to document how students integrate professional values into their practice, reflect on their interactions with patients, and validate teaching effectiveness.
