Abstract
In an effort to enhance educational support to nursing service personnel at the unit level, administrators at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, have created the staff educator RN position. The staff educator RN for each nursing unit is charged with coordinating and implementing all unit-based educational activities to meet assessed educational needs. This article describes the development of the staff educator RN role as well as rewards and challenges related to this role.
