Abstract
The Wisconsin Youth in Nursing (WYN) program was developed for students of color who are interested in nursing as a potential career. The purpose of this program is to introduce middle and high school students to the college experience, and to the myriad opportunities that a nursing degree provides. An ultimate goal of the program is to increase the number of culturally diverse nurses in Wisconsin. Discussed here are the specialized nursing-related activities of the WYN program, students involved in the program, their expectations and evaluation, and some outcomes of the program as perceived by the students.
