It is a challenging time in nursing education, with nurse educators being called to change the way they teach. These changes have necessitated a transformation of the traditional classroomto an interactive learning environment, which engages students and creates active participants in the learning process. Combined with the need for students to be actively involved in their learning, graduate nurses need to demonstrate competency in health care technology. This educator created an assignment in an adult health nursing course in which groups of students create educational Web sites using Google Sites, http://Weebly.com, or other free Web site creation tools. Students choose a topic covered during the course and build an educational Web site including pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and medical and nursing management of the disease. Students create NCLEX(R)-style questions based on the Web site and present the Web site to classmates. The class uses the Web sites to prepare for the final examination.

Students were surveyed about the assignments, and they reported feeling more comfortable with health care technology and an increased understanding of the assigned disease after creating a Web site. Students find value knowing that their work is available to others as an educational resource. More importantly, students reported that this assignment fostered collaboration and creativity within the group and that it was fun.
