It is with great pride that we practice nursing professional development. Our specialty has grown tremendously in the past 2 decades and especially in the past 5 years. We are recognized and credentialed as a specialty nursing practice, we influence strategic direction in health care nationally and internationally, we identify and measure outcomes, and we are a profession of learners. The Journal for Nurses in Professional Development (JNPD) has provided an excellent resource and has grown and changed with the times. Providing subject matter expertise, networking venues, practice insights, and vision, the Journal has been an indispensable resource. The Journal provides both comfort and challenge: letting us know we are all in this together, while reminding us to keep thinking, innovating, and moving the bar toward excellence.
We are honored to be the new co-editors of JNPD. We started in our roles in January 2014. We are looking forward to working with authors and partnering with the Editorial Board and publisher as the Journal thrives as a resource for our profession. We look forward to working and learning with you and hearing from you regarding ideas for JNPD and the Journal's Web site.
It is with great appreciation and gratitude that we acknowledge the vision and leadership of Belinda Puetz, PhD, RN, who has influenced all in the practice of nursing professional development. As Editor of our Journal for nearly 30 years, she has influenced our practice, helped us share our best ideas and outcomes, guided our development, and enhanced patient care. Thank you, Belinda, for your vision, mentorship, and leadership. You are an inspiration, and in that spirit, we hope to move forward and forge a continued strong future for JNPD and its readers.
