By the time you read this, it will be time for the ANPD convention. You'll find a description of the convention activities in the ANPD update, edited by Gen Guanci, the secretary of the association, in this issue of the journal. There is another exciting activity anticipated at this year's convention-one related to the journal.
The journal's publisher, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, is launching an iPad app at the ANPD convention that will be free to all ANPD members and subscribers to the journal. The app will allow you to have access to all of the content in each issue, including supplemental digital content such as expanded tables and graphics for selected articles.
We'll also be starting a feature called published "ahead-of-print" articles, which will provide you with access to manuscripts before they are published in the journal. That way, you'll be able to obtain cutting-edge information once the Editorial Board members who act as peer reviewers recommend the manuscript's publication and before the final version is published.
You'll continue to have access to the print and online journal features such as the contact hour article and the online test. And, you'll remain able to view the collections of previously published articles on topics such as simulation, preceptorship, and others of relevance to nursing professional development specialists. You will have all the convenience and portability of the JNPD website (http://www.jnpdonline.com) on your tablet.
We are excited about this bold new venture and invite you to visit the Lippincott Williams & Wilkins booth in the exhibit hall at the ANPD Convention from July 17 through 20, 2013, at the Dallas Sheraton Hotel to learn more about the new JNPD iPad app.
I look forward to seeing you there!
