Nurses everywhere care for the sickest and most vulnerable people. In Leogane, Haiti, this past January, nurses mobilized to provide nursing care within a half hour of the initial 7.0-magnitude earthquake. Despite a desperate shortage of food, water, medicine, and supplies, nurses and nursing students from the Faculte des Sciences Infirmieres de l'Universite Episcopale d'Haiti (Faculty of Nursing Science of the Episcopal University of Haiti) helped set up 10 first aid stations in this town located 20 miles west of Port-au-Prince. One week after the devastating event, they'd treated over 5,000 earthquake victims in the school's courtyard.

Heroic nurses in Haiti are still caring for patients with serious injuries. Along with skill, competence, and experience, they're providing hope and love. These nurses are on the job!!
