ABSTRACT
A 67-year-old woman with chest pain, shortness of breath, and electrocardiogram changes presented to the emergency department. Her care is described in terms of differentiating her diagnosis of takotsubo cardiomyopathy from acute myocardial infarction. Prompt recognition, distinguishing features, and advanced practice nursing management are described herein. The importance of astute nursing interventions is also emphasized in this article on takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
