Abstract

Government public health agencies and private health institutions predict significant increases in the rates of overweight, obesity, and related chronic diseases in the years ahead, putting serious strains on the world's healthcare systems and on national budgets.

 

Public health officials all over the world-and equally important, private health practitioners-are searching for education programs that will effectively prompt consumers to follow dietary guidelines designed to promote good health.
