The National Alliance of Wound Care
The National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC) announces a new pathway to WCC certification. This certification option allows licensed healthcare clinicians who have a passion for healing wounds, but do not have 2 years of wound care experience, to earn the WCC credential. This 4-week program consists of 1 week in a classroom setting followed by 3 weeks with a wound care-certified preceptor in the clinical setting.
The WCC clinical preceptor is an individual who will be the teacher/mentor for candidates wishing to receive their WCC certification. This individual is a licensed healthcare professional holding at least 1 of the following credentials: WCC, CWCN, CWON, CWOCN, or CWS. Contact the NAWC at 1-877-922-6292 to learn more about the program. The Preceptor Program Handbook may be downloaded from the NAWC Web site.
