Procedures may remain the same, but technology to perform these procedures is always developing. The world of capsule endoscopy continues to evolve with the goal of improving patient experiences and optimizing outcomes. There still are, however, patients who have conditions that may prohibit the utilization of capsule endoscopy. This presentation will review the current capsule technology and highlight some of the common contraindications. There will be a focus on the tools that are currently available to enable the opportunity for patients to undergo capsule endoscopy, thus potentially improving their health and well being.
