This presentation by an advanced practice nurse with 10 years of advanced therapeutic endoscopy experience and assisting with over 100 double balloon enteroscopies, will discuss evolving technology in gastrointestinal (GI) bleed evaluation and management. With rapidly increasing technology, what was once considered an unreachable anatomic structure is now accessed with increasing ease. This has allowed disease diagnosis and management to a population of patient's not considered ideal surgical candidates. Furthermore, this technological advancement has enhanced treatment of conditions previously not easily treated. Capsule endoscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, and the new development of Spiris are providing access The attendee will learn about small bowel evaluation, diagnosis, and treatments available through emerging technologies.
