The world of endoscopy is changing and expanding, allowing healthcare providers to look for a better, safer way to treat cancer that is not operable. CyberKnife is a form of radio surgery using a small linear particle accelerator and a robotic arm that allows the energy to be directed at any part of the body from any direction. There are several methods of CyberKnife, but this session will focus on fiducial guided CyberKnife. A fiducial is a gold marker placed either surgically, by an interventional radiologist, or via endoscopy. Fiducials can be either a bead or coil form. They can be placed via endoscope, endoscopic ultrasonagraphy, endobronchial ultrasonagraphy, bronchoscope, or Spyglass(TM).
