Increasingly, leadership tasks GI Nurse Managers with making long and short term decisions that impact the clinical and financial operations of their organization. Nursing schools, however, rarely include fundamentals of business as part of the standard curricula. This full-day program devotes itself to nurse managers who proactively seek to positively affect their units' productivity, profit, quality, and satisfaction. The course consists of a series of eight modules: 1) financial terms and budgeting, 2) benchmarking, 3) reimbursement, 4) staffing, 5) scheduling and equipment, and 6) supply chain management. Panel discussions followed by question and answer sessions feature high-level healthcare administrators discussing best practices for building business cases to obtain required resources. Attendees will join faculty and guest panelists at a networking lunch offering additional recommendations for leadership. Participants will also receive tips and hands-on tools to incorporate into their individual practice setting.
