Together with the Louisiana Association of Occupational Health Nurses' annual convention taking place in New Orleans late this month, my small local chapter is hosting "Nurses Resuscitate NOLA," and we are inviting nurses from all over the United States to come and help us to rebuild New Orleans. We also hope to be able to help our friend Cheri Landry, one of the two nurses accused of murdering patients during Hurricane Katrina, whose case was dropped last year (see In the News, January and August 2007, and Editorial, "In Their Shoes," October 2006). Cheri is homeless and we want to help build her a new home. Please visit our state chapter's Web site (http://www.laohn.org) for information on volunteer opportunities.
