I'm writing about "Transferring a Patient from Bed to Wheelchair" (Smooth Patient Transfers, Part II, February 2008).* After settling the patient in the wheelchair, the author recommended leaving the gait belt on for the reverse transfer. For the dignity of the patient, I think it's better to remove the gait belt.
