Abstract
Throughout the ages, athletes have sought to augment training and diet with substances that are ergogenic or work producing. Today's athletes have a wide variety of supplements to choose from, and a new, improved supplement is always on the horizon. This article reviews 4 popular ergogenic aids: creatine, caffeine, epigallocatechin gallate, and nitric oxide, and discusses the science behind the supplement and the potential benefits and risks of using these supplements
