The letters (September 2007) in response to the articles by Geraldine Gorman ("Are We Ready Yet?" Viewpoint, January 2007) and Dan Mullen ("Nurses, Duty, and War," Viewpoint, June 2007) were amusing. The respondents were not offended that AJN presented a political view, but only that it presented a view different from their own. I am a proud liberal RN, and while I may not agree with the views presented in the articles, I applaud Ms. Gorman and Mr. Mullen for voicing them. Thank you for providing some discussion on this current topic. When we cease open discussion on tough subjects, we cease to maintain our national democracy.
