In July 2007, Hattie Larlham opened a technology unit. Located in Mantua, OH the facility is the first of its kind in the area. Its nonclinical design provides sophisticated medical care to the most fragile children and adults with disabilities. The unit houses 24 beds and is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology, such as a special bacteria-resistant coating on the floor. Details were carefully planned to help better the lives of people with disabilities. The tech unit is part of the Hope at Work capital campaign for Hattie Larlham. Its completion marks the end of the project's first phase. Once the remaining two phases are completed in 2008, the $16 million endeavor will expand Hattie Larlham's scope of services throughout the state of Ohio.

Established in 1961, Hattie Larlham is a nonprofit organization that provides services to 1400 children and adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities throughout Ohio.
