New Master's Program Established
The University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has established a new program for a master of science degree in community health (prevention and wound care), awarding the credential MScCM. The flex-time program is built on the format of the university's current wound care course. Applicants with a degree can apply to the school of graduate studies.
Three compulsory full courses are offered: International Interprofessional Wound Care Course, Teaching and Learning Course, and Public Health Science: Introduction, How to Change Systems. All students are required to take at least 1 practicum (160 hours of approved clinical program or equivalent). A second practicum is recommended, and each practicum is the equivalent of 0.5 course equivalent. Approved electives account for the remaining 1 to 1.5 full-course equivalents.
