The barriers provide a close match to stoma size and shape, adapt to the changing shape of a stoma, require no tools or accessories to aid in fitting, and provide improved skin protection, according to the manufacturer.

The elastic materials of the barrier's adhesive allow the product to expand and contract along with the stoma as it changes size throughout the day.
