As an RN practicing since 1966 with people of different colors, races, and nationalities, I found the May cover, and the notion of segregated organizations for nurses, offensive. Why would nurses need to group themselves by race, color, or national origin? If an organization called White Nurses of America was started, it would probably be denounced as racist and prejudicial.
