As they have for the past three years, members of the Nightingales, an antitobacco nursing advocacy group, attended the corporate shareholder meetings of the major tobacco companies to protest the marketing of tobacco products and bring attention to the illnesses they cause. Nightingales members also spoke out at the shareholder meetings of Reynolds American in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and General Electric (GE) in New York City, where they asked that, as the parent company of Universal Pictures, GE remove depictions of smoking from films geared toward children.
