Abstract

The smartphone app was shown to improve self-efficacy of pain and self-management behaviors. However, an accurate assessment of the effectiveness of the app and generalizability of the findings is limited by the smaller-than-desired sample size due to the COVID-19 pandemic and technological challenges. A greater understanding of how to overcome technological challenges is needed to optimize the delivery of self-management programs via smartphone-based apps. Studies reevaluating this app on a larger sample size should be conducted.
