These events are called lateral violence, professional terrorism, or nurse-on-nurse hostility, and seem to be particularly prevalent in GI departments. This behavior can increase staff turnover, decrease productivity, and negatively affect patient care. In this session, learn what lateral violence is, why it is so common in the field of GI nursing, and how to stop the cycle of destruction it causes.
