The use of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has become more and more common over the last few years. This lecture will cover endoscopic ultrasound from its humble beginnings, to current treatments modalities such as fine needle aspiration, celiac plexus blocks/neurolysis, pseudocyst drainage, and also look into the not-so-distant future. We will also review how the technology of EUS has evolved making it a very effective means of evaluation of the GI tract and treatment.
