Abstract

According to this study:

• Hyperglycemia, which is common in critically ill ICU patients, was less severe in those patients who weren't receiving parenteral nutrition in the ICU than that previously reported in those who were receiving parenteral nutrition.
• Further lowering of blood glucose levels to the normal fasting range didn't affect mortality or length of stay in the ICU.
