Article Content

Improved design, graphics, and navigational tools now help visitors more easily find a wide array of information about the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) at http://www.ninr.nih.gov, including research and training opportunities, whom at the NINR to contact with proposals for research grants, summarized findings from NINR investigators' publications, news, and notices of upcoming events. Visitors also can download audio and video presentations, interviews, and meetings.

The Web site also offers recent NINR publications for viewing or downloading, including

* The NINR Strategic Plan for 2006 to 2010, which sets out the NINR's research priorities for the coming years.

* Subtle and Dangerous: Symptoms of Heart Disease in Women, which summarizes recent findings by several NINR investigators relating to cardiac symptom recognition and treatment in women.

* Changing Practice, Changing Lives: 10 Landmark Nursing Research Studies, compiled for the NINR's 20th anniversary in 2006, which showcases 10 studies supported by the NINR that significantly affected nursing science.

"We're excited about our revitalized Web site," says NINR director Patricia A. Grady. "The NINR recognizes the importance of providing information in an easily accessible and comprehensive format to scientists, grantees, nursing students, and the public. The broad range of research programs supported by the NINR affects the health of millions of Americans every day."
