I was impressed by the September 2006 Health and Safety column "Does Workplace Stress Lead to Accident or Error?" Common errors can be reduced if nurses are allowed to voice their concerns and encouraged to update their knowledge through continuing education. Such small measures make nurses more knowledgeable, appreciated, and supported-and better team players. Given nurses' heavy workloads, these procedures relieve stress, reduce errors, and improve patient care and nurses' well-being.
