FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
The September 2006 issue of Advances in Skin & Wound Care is a special edition for several reasons. First, the journal's publication coincides with the annual Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin & Wound Care, which will be held on September 28 to October 1, 2006, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. We hope to see everyone there for this opportunity to earn continuing education credits, to network with colleagues, and to participate in interesting sessions covering the spectrum of wound care topics.
Second, we are proud to launch 2 departments in this issue. The APWCA Clinical Rounds will be authored by various members of the American Professional Wound Care Association. These wound care specialists will give readers new insight to challenging clinical dilemmas. This month's topic is "Use of Autologous Platelet Concentrate in a Nonhealing Lower Extremity Wound," by Jody P. McAleer, DPM, AAPWCA; Sid Sharma, DPM, AAPWCA; Gianni Persich, DPM; and Eric M. World Union Reports will be authored by wound care specialists from around the world, taking readers on a journey to a different country in each issue. These authors will share their unique methods of providing wound care, often using improvised techniques and limited materials. September's installment comes from India, featuring, "Improvisation Is the Key to Success: The Samadhan System," by Kshitij Shankhdhar, MBBS, Dip. Diabetology, DDM, PGDND, FAPWCA, MEASD, MDFSG, MICN, MUPMA.
