Editor's note:
The 11th National Conference on Nursing Administration Research was held on October 5-8, 2005. The conference focus was on identifying promising research findings on nursing administration and work force issues, evaluating readiness to use the results of nursing research to improve quality and cost outcomes in nursing care settings, and analyzing barriers and supports for translating research into meaningful solutions. The conference was sponsored by the University of Arizona College of Nursing, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Council on Graduate Education for Administration in Nursing (CGEAN). To showcase the excellent research, lead presenters were asked to provide a brief overview of their groups' work. A small sampling follows.
