Posey Deluxe Podus Boot. The redesigned Posey Deluxe Podus Boot offers greater comfort and improved protection against heel ulcers and plantar flexion contracture. Now available in 2 sizes (small-medium and medium-large), the boot is made with moisture-wicking Orthowick material to help keep the patient's feet dry. The contours of the inner shell completely isolate the heel to better prevent and treat heel ulcers and to accommodate up to a 45-degree plantar flexion contracture.
Standard features include a padded, detachable toe post that keeps bed linens off the toes, securement by 2 anchors to help prevent unwanted rotation, and a sturdy and adjustable antirotation bar to help prevent any internal/external hip rotation.

INVANZ (ertapenem). This once-daily injectable antibiotic is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe complicated skin and skin structure infections, including diabetic foot infections without osteomyelitis due to Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-susceptible isolates only), Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Bacteroides fragilis, Peptostreptococcus species, Porphyromonas asaccharolytica, or Prevotella bivia. INVANZ has not been studied in diabetic foot infections with concomitant osteomyelitis.
