As an educator, I was frustrated to read about the nurse who was put on a waiting list for required clinical classes for the second year in a row ("Why Not Nursing?" Letters, September 2005). Research shows that qualified nursing professors are in demand, yet I can't find full-time employment in a university or college as a faculty member. Instead, I have to work at two part-time jobs, with few or no benefits. Nursing students should stand up and demand more faculty.
