I currently practice as an advanced practice RN in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at a hospital that is mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees ("Should COVID-19 Vaccination Be Required for Health Care Workers?" In the News, October 2021). I support mandatory vaccination.

When the vaccines were first approved for use, I, too, was hesitant and afraid. My hesitancy was eased by getting facts about the virus and vaccination from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As health care providers, we have to provide a safe place for patients. If that requires getting vaccinated, then that's what we must do.
