"When Providing Care Is a Moral Issue," (AJN Reports, October) asks of emergency contraception "does it prevent a pregnancy or terminate it?" From science, we know that it does both. Praise to the courageous pharmacists who balk at supplying it. Since the 19th century, science has indicated that life begins at conception. The College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has invented the term "preembryo" in an attempt to circumvent the truth.
