I am one of the "older nurses" mentioned in Cogswell's letter, so I've seen the floors go from tile to carpets and back again. Many years after the carpets were installed-after hauling beds and equipment around with great difficulty, after trying to pick up spills (and worse) off the rugs-we finally got the okay to reinstall tile floors because they were more sanitary, albeit a little noisier. I cannot say that there were any injuries from moving around the equipment, but it certainly smells better around here.
