Nurse organizations form commission to address racism in nursing. Twenty-three nursing organizations, led by the American Nurses Association, National Black Nurses Association, National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations, and National Association of Hispanic Nurses, have launched the National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing. The purpose of the commission is to lead a national discussion on the issue of systemic racism in nursing. Later this year the commission will hold a summit to develop an action-oriented plan and recommendations for the profession.
