In the model described in "Implementation of a Warm Zone Model During the COVID-19 Pandemic" (Cultivating Quality, January), nurses wore the same gown for all their patients. Would it not be a concern that a COVID patient could have another infection-bacterial, fungal, or viral-that could be transmitted via a contaminated gown to another patient?

Thank you for your query regarding our development and use of a warm zone model and "bridging" between patients with COVID-19. To clarify, bridging did not apply to patients who required transmission-based precautions for organisms other than SARS-CoV-2 (such as, Clostridioides difficile). For these patients, the used gown was doffed prior to room exit and a clean gown was donned prior to the next room entry.
