This session will review the celiac plexus block and celiac plexus neurolysis procedures. This review will include a case study with physician assessment and workup, the nursing assessment and preparation of the patient, and preprocedure equipment and set up. Intra- and postprocedure, helpful hints, and billing codes will also be discussed. In addition, future injection therapy for endoscopic ultrasound will be covered including chemotherapeutic agents into tumors and alcohol injection into pancreatic cysts.
