Abstract
A conference on the science and practice of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) research for allied health and nursing professionals was held in New Jersey. Its outcome objectives were for participants to be able to discuss legal and ethical issues in CAM research and practice, describe the dietary supplements used in CAM, explain the manipulative and body-based therapies of CAM, and apply evidence-based methods to their practice and/or research approaches to CAM. This report summarizes the conference presentations and its relevance to dietetics professionals.
