Know the "no zone"
The "no zone" is the area near a large truck's side and rear where cars seem to disappear from the truck driver's sight into blind spots. Be particularly careful about lingering in that zone beside a truck. If the driver needs to change lanes and can't see you, you're in danger. You also can be in danger in the zone just behind the truck. Tailgating there not only hides you from the driver's view but also radically reduces your view of traffic ahead.
When passing a truck, avoid cutting in front of it too soon, then abruptly slowing down because the large vehicle can't slow down or navigate as easily as you can. Just maintain your speed and wait until you can clearly see the front of the truck in your rearview mirror before shifting back into the other lane.
