Since transitioning to an online learning environment, one thing is certain: we have all seen or heard funny, awkward, and sometimes inappropriate sounds and visuals. Ground rules of the online environment should be clearly communicated to students in the beginning of a course as they would for a face-to-face course to avoid an embarrassing situation. Communicating clear expectations of your online course provides students with structure and may also prevent multiple clarification emails.
