Advanced Neuromodulation Systems, Inc.'s (Plano, Tex.) Genesis RC and Genesis RC Dual Neurostimulation Systems have been approved by the FDA for the management of pain and disorders of the nervous system.

The new implantable pulse generator (IPG) spinal cord stimulation system is rechargeable, joining the company's existing product line of radio-frequency and nonrechargeable IPG stimulation systems.

According to the company, improvements in battery technology and circuit efficiency will make conventional IPGs increasingly effective.
