MCN 's Editor and Editorial Board are proud to announce the winners of the MCN 2004 Research Paper and Practice Paper of the Year Awards.
The MCN Practice Paper of the Year, 2004, was written by Anne Derouin, MSN, RN, CPNP, from Duke University School of Nursing, Durham North Carolina. Published in January 2004, her article was titled Living on the Edge: The Current Phenomenon of Self-Mutilation in Adolescents.
The MCN Research Paper of the Year, 2004, written by Charlotte Ward-Larson, PhD, RNC, Associate Professor, Union University, Memphis, Tennessee, was entitled The Efficacy of Facilitated Tucking for Relieving Procedural Pain of Endotracheal Suctioning in Very Low Birthweight Infants. It was published in MCN in May 2004.
These articles were chosen by the MCN Editorial Board from among all articles published in 2004 (except those by Editorial Board members, who are not eligible for the awards) and deemed to be the most clinically applicable, timely, and valuable. We congratulate the winners, and hope they will continue to contribute to the nursing literature.
