Smith Medical's "All-in-One" Blood Glucose Monitor and Insulin Pump

The Deltec Cozmo is an insulin pump manufactured by Smith Medical. It is a small, lightweight device that delivers insulin continuously through a short, flexible plastic tube inserted under the skin. The mobile phone-size pump includes a full-sized 300-unit insulin cartridge and is powered by a single AAA battery. The pump is easy to use and safe for pediatric use.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given clearance to Smith Medical MD, Inc. to market its CoZmonitor blood glucose module. When the CoZmonitor blood glucose module is attached to the back of the Deltec Cozmo insulin pump, an "all-in-one" insulin pump and blood glucose monitoring system is created. The CoZmonitor is a major advancement in making diabetes management easier.

New Shielding Lotion for Chronically Dry Hands

Gloves in a Bottle has developed a new lotion created to lock in moisture and protect clinicians' skin from harmful irritants. The outer layer of skin, which is composed of dead skin cells, is designed to protect the deeper and more sensitive layers of skin below. Habitual hand washing and regular exposure to chemicals can remove the skin's natural oils, causing it to become dry and irritated. Gloves in a Bottle bonds with the outer layer of the skin to lock in moisture and create a protective layer around the surface of the skin. Unlike many other lotions and creams, Gloves In a Bottle does not wash off when hands are washed. The greaseless, hypoallergenic, nontoxic lotion lasts up to 4 hours and is removed naturally with exfoliated skin cells.
