Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide physicians and nurses with an overview of 3 common chronic wounds and the laboratory values that can be used to assist in accurately diagnosing them.
TARGET AUDIENCE: This continuing education activity is intended for physicians and nurses with an interest in tools that can assist in accurately diagnosing chronic wounds.
OBJECTIVES: After reading the article and taking the test, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe the pathophysiology, assessment, and management of pressure, venous, and arterial ulcers.
2. Identify laboratory values that can assist in diagnosing chronic wounds.
