Thank you so much for Mary McRae's wonderful story, "Simple Pleasures" (Sharing, June 2004), which brought back a joyous memory. In June 2000, my 11-year-old son had much-needed heart surgery. Before the surgery his stamina, which had never been good, was even worse. A few months after surgery, though, he came in the front door shouting with glee, "Mom!! I ran[horizontal ellipsis]uphill!!"
How much most little boys (and moms) take for granted.
