Abstract
My mother wasn't a nurse, consultant, or CMS expert. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother with silver hair worn in a French twist for 40 years. She loved the ocean and had walked the beach in Provincetown, Massachusetts, for hundreds of miles. Up every day at dawn, she joined early-bird swimmers always swimming in her favorite lane. It was in that lane she first struggled to raise her right arm over her head.
